What is the cost of a franchise?
A new retail store cost range is between $200,000 - $350,000 (ex GST) nationally. This includes the initial franchise fee, shop fit costs, territory set up, cars, etc. and the initial training fee.
It is important to note that not all franchise territories are required to invest in retail store set up, therefore reducing your initial investment. The standard $50k Franchise Fee is payable to secure a 5 year Franchise Deed and cover your initial training fee.
What type of training do I receive?
As part of you initial Franchise Fee, you will complete a 2-4 week competency based training program which provides training in all ZEN Energy Systems operational policy and procedure, as well as small business management, in the key areas of:
• Franchise management
• Residential and Business customer service and sales
• Product knowledge and technical specifications
• Daily operations
• Installer relationship management
• Team management
• Marketing
• Small business and financial management
What is the Franchise Service Fee?
The Franchise Service Fee (FSF) is the amount that will be paid to you the franchisee based on your sales. Currently the FSF for residential solar systems is 7% on RRP (ex GST and Solar Council & Community Discounts) and for residential solar hot water systems it is 11% on RRP (ex GST and Solar Council and Community Discounts). The Franchise Service Fee (FSF) is paid to you within 14 days of the installation being confirmed.
Are there any ongoing fees I have to pay?
Unlike most franchise networks ZEN Energy Systems do not require you to pay an ongoing royalty payment, however, you are required to contribute 4% of your FSF to the ZEN Energy Systems National Marketing Fund. The contribution to the Marketing Fund is an invaluable contribution as it goes toward growing the strength of the ZEN Energy Systems brand with the funds to be spent on large National advertising campaigns and promotional initiatives across the network.
Do I have to work in my ZEN Franchise?
Yes. ZEN Energy Systems franchises are owner operated businesses. ZEN Energy Systems will not approve applicants simply looking for an investment. Running a successful business takes time and commitment and we are looking for franchisees who want to be part of their own success and be a strong ZEN Energy Systems brand ambassador!
