Founded in 1881, the Art Gallery of South Australia is home to the second largest art collection in Australia, housed in one of Adelaide’s most beautiful buildings.

Located at the heart of Adelaide’s cultural boulevard, North Terrace, between the South Australian Museum and University of Adelaide, the Art Gallery welcomed more than 700,000 visitors in 2016. The Art Gallery’s outstanding collection of 38,000 works of art comprises Australian, European, North American and Asian works including paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs, textiles, furniture, ceramics, metalwork and jewellery.

The Art Gallery of South Australia houses 64kWh worth of battery storage as part of the demonstration project, powered by three 7.5kW Selectronic inverters. An existing 30kW solar array previously installed by ZEN Energy on a separate project will also supplement the battery storage system in reducing site loads during peak demand periods. The storage system at this site has the capacity to deliver up to 22.5kW of peak load shaving to the site at any one time.
