ZEN Energy is immensely proud of our Chairman Professor Ross Garnaut, who has been recognised as a Companion of General Division of the Order of Australia in the 2017 Queens Birthday Honours.
The award was conferred on Prof Garnaut for his eminent service to the community as a leading international economist in the area of energy efficiency and climate change policy, to the development of Australia-Asia Pacific relations, and through contributions to social and political discourse. The award follows on from Professor Garnaut’s previous appointment as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 1993 for his work in international relations, economic reform and education.
Professor Garnaut says he has worked with a “lot of good people” in the sector over the past decade, and he thinks the honour is a tribute to their efforts.
Speaking to The Australian newspaper, Professor Garnaut said “when you’ve been in public policy discussions for almost half a century, you know that sometimes you have to go at something for a long time for it to be accepted in the community,”
“It’s just nice recognition of the importance of the work,” he said.
This award is another example of the experts that are leading ZEN Energy in our mission to make Australia a more energy sustainable place, and the enlightened people you can place your trust in when selecting your renewable energy provider.
