The City of Adelaide’s London Road Depot serves as the primary depot for Council Works programs and Public Realm staff for the City of Adelaide.
The City of Adelaide’s Carbon Neutral Strategy 2015-2025 sets out targets for zero net carbon emissions from Council’s operations by 2020 and for the City of Adelaide community by 2025. The Carbon Neutral Adelaide Action Plan 2016-2021 sets out the pathways to achieve the joint aspiration with the State Government for the City of Adelaide to be a carbon neutral city.
As part of this commitment, the City of Adelaide has joined the demonstration project via the City of Adelaide’s London Road Works Depot (London Road Depot). Located in Mile End and to the immediate west of the Adelaide Central Business District, the London Road Depot serves as the primary depot for Council Works programs and Public Realm staff for the City of Adelaide.
The London Road Depot houses 64kWh of battery storage as part of the demonstration project. With a maximum system power output of 22.5kW available direct from the battery storage system, peak loads at the site will also be further reduced by a supplemental 30kW solar system, with plans to expand solar at the site to 180kW.
